10 1/2 weeks along

Today was my first doctors appointment.

We got an ultrasound and saw our little peanut. He or she was scratching their head on the screen. It was really cute to see.

Everything looks good. The doc said that the heartbeat is strong. My blood pressure was a little high, but the doc said we won't worry about it unless it stays high at the next visit or two.

I am down two pounds, but that is probably because I can't eat very much and I keep throwing up. I am not complaining about the weight loss, but this morning sickness and nausea really has got to stop!!

I was relieved to only see one baby. I kept having twin dreams and thinking about twins a lot lately. Twins run in both sides of the family and for some reason I was really worried this time. But there is only one...yay!

My next appointment is September 28th.

Busy

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been pretty busy and tired and not feeling well all at the same time.

Work asked me to work this past Friday and this coming Friday and I agreed. I know stupid, but it will be nice to have the extra money and I am really helping them out.

We did get an estimate for the concrete for extending our driveway and the floor of the garage. It was $4,000.00 HIGHER than what I had expected. I am so irritated, because everything seems to be so expensive.

Three years ago we had estimates to have a garage built for us. The garage we had wanted was a little smaller than what we want now (we were told go as big as you can or you'll regret it). So, I called the one guy back (he is actually a friend of my moms). I am waiting for his phone call. I am going to have him do another estimate for building the garage and suck it up and pay for him to do it. When he estimated it three years ago, it was only about $5,000.00 more than what our cement driveway was going to cost us. So, we are thinking it just might be a better idea to have someone else do it. It will cost a little more, but it doesn't seem like much more and this way Gary and his dad don't have to stress about getting a garage done by the winter only working on it weekends and after they get off of work.

I am just getting stressed about this whole garage thing and I think I will be much happier if a group of people come in and get it done in a month or two, rather than Gary busting his butt to get it done. I really want to work on making the spare bedroom into a "big girls room" for Alyssa right after Christmas (or sooner), so she can move in and get comfortable in there at least a month before the new baby comes.

So, that is pretty much it for around here. The weather has been really comfortable here. It was nice to be able to turn off the A/C and let fresh air in.

Gas prices are ridiculous

Today I filled my gas tank up at $2.69 a gallon. It cost me $57.00 to fill up my 2002 Ford Explorer. I love my car, but damn it costs a lot to fill that beast up.

On Monday I needed to fill my tank and in the morning gas was $2.47 a gallon. I was running a little late for work, so I figured I would fill it up after I got off at 1:00. I should have known, it went up to $2.69. I was hoping between last night and today I would catch a break and it would have gone back down a little, but no such luck. So, I was stuck paying $2.69 a gallon.

I want to go to visit my SIL, my nephew and my new baby niece tomorrow, but they live about 45 minutes away. I can't believe that I had to debate if I wanted to drive out there because gas is so friggin' expensive. (Of course, I am going anyway).

I know they say that it is expected to be over $3.00 a gallon, but seeing those prices just make me want to get sick. (And it isn't from the morning sickness...which I still have by the way).

Alyssa is walking!!!

Yay for Alyssa!!! She started walking today. For the past week she would only take about one or two steps and then fall to her knees. Today, she decided to walk across the room and hasn't stopped. She still hasn't figured out how to stand up without help, but once she is up, she is going.

Of course, I missed it. I was at the hospital visiting a friend who just had a baby and Gary called me to tell me that I was missing our daughter walking. I was so upset that I missed it, but I am so glad she is finally walking!

It looks so damn cute too. She is still really wobbly, but better than I ever imagined her to be on her first day walking.

Boring Post

Well, the garage sale went a little better the second day. I made a total of $45.00. Better than I thought starting out the first day with a whopping $6.00.

Today I only worked an hour. Gary called me at about 8:00 to tell me he had been paged (he is on-call) and that he needed to go into work now. Well, Alyssa wasn't even awake yet and Gary didn't have a carseat or a car to take Alyssa anywhere, so I got to home home (secret yay for me). It was nice, but whenever I am home I am the laziest piece of a lump there is known. I always think, I am going to do a lot of cleaning today, and then nothing gets done. I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired. This first trimester is still taking too incredibly long.

And we were supposed to go apply for our loan today, but since Gary got called in to work, we can't do that. Bummer. I don't want to wait until the last minute (like we do everything), but we probably won't get another chance to go to the bank until next Monday.

Not much else is going on around here, but sometimes that is a good thing!

Garage Sale - Part II

It's that time again. We pulled everything back out for Part II of our Garage sale. It was a beautiful day. Although I was super tired and didn't feel good, I still stuck it out the whole time. And guess how much I made today...$6.00! Yep, a whole $6.00.

A friend of mine also had a garage sale this weekend too. She opened hers on Thursday and made $200.00 on Thursday alone. I am beginning to think we are in a horrible location, in fact I know that must be what our main problem is.

Our house would be better location for the sale, but bad news is...no garage to store the stuff in.

I am not getting rid of anything big and I have no where to put this stuff if it doesn't sell. I guess it will all be going to good will after this is over.

We are open again tomorrow, but after that, I think we are done. I am hoping for a better turnout, but not expecting it, that is for sure!

*Our Garage Update* I turned in the blueprints to the city and we are now waiting on the permit. Gary and I must go to the bank to start the loan process, so once we get the permit, we can break ground for cement. Yay!!
