36 weeks today!

Today I am 36 weeks! I had a doctors appt on Monday and I am still 2.5 centimeters dilated and now 80% effaced. Hearing numbers like those make me think that I am going to go into labor tomorrow, but then the doc says "see you next week" and reassures me to not pay attention to those numbers.

And for good reason. I still have one baptism to attend and one birthday party to throw!!

We finally switched the cribs into the correct bedrooms and Alyssa did great with her new crib. I thought she might have a little uneasiness being that it was a different crib, but she didn't at all. I am so glad for that.

I have to brag a little about Alyssa. My little girl can count to 11!! I can't believe it. When we walk down the stairs, she will count each step. And I swear we were looking at her play phone and I pointed out a couple numbers and she told me what numbers they were. I am still shocked and I can't get her to do that again, but I swear she did it the one time. Now please tell me why she still needs speech therapy??? She has been saying all kinds of words lately and has been repeating things we say, but the therapist thinks she should be putting two and three words together. She must think she is behind enough to bump up her monthly visit to two times a month. I think she is crazy, but she has a degree and we are getting it free through early intervention, so I am not complaining. I just think she is a smart cookie and I probably wouldn't have thought anything of her speech if we weren't going to early intervention for the physical therapy (which she doesn't need anymore and the therapist will evaluate her, but every time she says Alyssa is doing perfectly for her age...well except for her kicking a ball - insert eye roll here).

My stepmom finally gave me the money for the double stroller. I have to admit, I was getting a little worried, since she said that she would given us the money weeks ago. So, I ordered it and it should be here soon...yay!!

I have been going crazy ordering things online. I ordered Alyssa a big sister T-shirt with her name on it. I ordered curtains for Morgan's room, Easter baskets with names embroidered, and shelves for Alyssa's bedroom. I never bought anything online before (well except for Alyssa's book club) and I have to admit it is awesome!! I am thinking about ordering a flower clock for Morgan's room with her name on it too. It is too much fun to come home and see something on your doorstep! It's like Christmas...LOL!

So, I guess that is my weekly update. No one will know if I have the baby or not, since lately I have been such an infrequent poster...LOL!

Another doctors appt...

Since now I am on my weekly doctors appts, I had to switch to Mondays since that is one of Gary's days off. So, I had another appt today.

Doc said I was dilated another 1/2 centimeter (so 2.5 now). We scheduled my induction date for March 9th. I will be going in around 6:00 pm. I asked her if she thought I would even make it to that day and she said that she didn't see why not. She said my cervix is still pretty "thick", so even though I am dilated, it isn't that close yet.

My BP was a bit higher today, but she compared the chart with Alyssa and last time, my BP also went up around the same time. I have been getting cramps / contractions / braxton hicks...whatever...for the past few days on and off. Nothing consistent, but enough to be annoying and uncomfortable. Sleeping is getting very uncomfortable and I have to pee like 3 times a night.

I can definitely tell that it is getting close to the end! We got all of the baby stuff out of the attic and I washed all of the clothes. I made my honey-do list for my Gary. I am still going to plan Alyssa's 2nd birthday party. These next few weeks are going to FLY by!!

34 week checkup

Today I had my 34 week checkup.

I am 2 centimeters dialated. I talked to the doc about the cramping I have been getting (although none since the weekend), and she advised me to try to take it easy. I asked her about going to Jazzercise and she advised against it. I am bummed because I wanted to exercise up until the end like I did with Alyssa. But, I don't want to have this baby too early, so I will definitely follow the doctor's orders.

She did give me two dates that I can pick from to be induced -- I can go in Thursday, March 9th in the evening or Friday March 10th, early in the morning. We will tell her next week what time I pick.

I don't know why I am having a weird feeling that I won't make it until then. And I just sent Alyssa's invitations to be printed with a March 5th date on them. Plus my niece is getting baptized the weekend before (Feb 26th) and I am the godmother.

I feel like I am not ready at all and this time is just passing me by.

My doc wants to see me for weekly checkups now so that she can make sure I am not dialating too fast. I can't believe that I am going to have another baby here soon.

Already a week?!?

Ok, so it's been a week since I posted last. Well, I guess trying to post more isn't working well is it?? What am I going to do when I have two babies?!? I will NEVER have time to post...LOL!

Actually this week has been kind of slow. No new doctors appointments and no new news with Alyssa.

I have started to feel some cramping and it is damn uncomfortable! I don't think it is contractions because they linger around for a while. Right now they are really not that bad, but last night they were horrible. I actually skipped out on my exercise class this morning because I didn't want to do anything I really shouldn't be doing. When I was pregnant with Alyssa I didn't have this. I exercised up to the day before I delivered. I was hoping to do the same this time. We will see though. I won't push anything I shouldn't, so I will just wait to see how my body feels before each class.

My mom came over today and we painted the letters for Morgan's room (the letters spell out her name). We did them in pink and purple. Then we painted some wood flowers in the different colors so we can put those all over the room. I hope it turns out cute!

I think I finished Alyssa's birthday invitation!! I did it in photoshop and it has taken me a couple weeks to finish it. I am new at photoshop and didn't really know how to do anything. But, a friend of mine (who is a photoshop pro) explained how to do different things, so I was able to do the whole thing by myself. Thanks, Keri!! I am super excited about it!!

Tomorrow we are going over my step brother and his fiance's house to watch the superbowl. It will be nice for the kids to play. I love it when Alyssa gets to play with her cousins.

I think that is it for now. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!!
